Spokes to Slopes is a human powered cycling tour which will take Colin Pither and Caroline Irvine (two complete strangers who have never met before) on a ride of approximately 6000km while passing through 15 countries and some of the most beautiful areas in Europe. Run on a very tight budget, we will be filming, blogging and photographing the tour while we stealth camp and couch surf our way across the continent. Beginning in Lisbon and ending in Istanbul, we plan on averaging 80-100km/day over a period of 75 days.

The purpose of our expedition is to draw awareness and support to the ever-present threat of climate change as well as the importance of developing a sustainable economy and transportation system. We hope to inspire people to lead active, adventurous lifestyles and promote the idea that self propelled transportation can be a very enjoyable way to travel and commute.

We will be filming our expedition and will use the footage to create a short film about our travels on return to Canada. We will also be updating our website with photos as well as publishing at regular intervals updates about our experiences on the road.
